Dr Rosalind Chew is Assistant Chair (Publicity, Alumni and External Relations) of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Coordinator of the Economic Growth Centre of the Economics Division.A former graduate of the University of Singapore, Dr Chew obtained her MA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and Ph D in Economics from the National University of Singapore. She is author of, inter alia, Workers' Perception of Wage Determination (Times Academic Press, 1990), The Singapore Worker: A Profile (Oxford University Press, 1991), Employment-driven Industrial Relations Regimes: the Singapore Experience (Avebury, 1995), and Wage Policies In Singapore: A Key to Competitiveness (International Labor Organisation, 1996). She was awarded the Singapore Book Prize in 1996. She has also published in Computational Economics and the International Journal of Manpower. A recognised specialist in the areas of Labor Economics and Industrial relations, she has served as consultant to the International Labor Organisation, the United Nation Industrial Development Organisation, National Computer Board and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore). She is also active in public service, and was a Resource Person for the Government Parliamentary Committee for Community Development during 1995-2003 and Expert Consultant to the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) on Skills Training Programme Surveys during 1995-2007.
